Cycling Scotland is running a high profile campaign encouraging children and their parents, to cycle to school more regularly. Children want to cycle to school but very few do, largely because parents are worried about safety. This campaign is running in four areas across Scotland to highlight the fact that they are cycle friendly areas. We want to shout about theses areas to encourage parents and children to Ôgo for spokeÕ. The campaign aims to highlight to parents that cycling to school is much safer than they think, by raising awareness of the number of new cycle paths in their area and infrastructure in schools (such as bike racks). We also want to reinforce that cycling not only gets children out and about more, but it also means they arrive at school more alert and ready to learn while exciting children about cycling by showing how fun and cool it is.
